The VW/Audi comfort module (Komfortsteuergerät), the central body control module on VAG vehicles, is one of our recurring bench jobs. A lot of what reaches us arrived as a wiring complaint in the bay and turned out to be a board-level fault inside the module:

How we repair a comfort module.
We diagnose component by component on the PCB and repair the actual fault instead of swapping the whole module. The work happens on an ESD-safe bench with microscope-guided rework and controlled-temperature soldering. Typical findings are a blown capacitor on a power rail, a failed driver IC, a cracked solder joint, or a ground plane corroded by moisture.
