Cracked screen, dead pixels, unresponsive touch, lines across the display. All Switch models serviceable: original, OLED, and Lite.
Switches travel. They get put in bags, dropped onto coffee tables, handed to kids, and undocked dozens of times a week. Over time, screens take damage in a few predictable ways: drops that crack the glass and the panel beneath, pressure damage from being sat on or stuffed into tight bags, water or juice spills that get past the bezel, and just gradual touch digitizer wear in the spots most-used during gameplay.
Any of these end up at the same place: replacing the screen assembly. Whether it's a cracked panel or a dead touch layer, the assembly comes out as one unit and a new one goes in.
The three current Switch variants each use their own screen:
The Switch comes apart with care because of the way the internal ribbons and shield plates are arranged. The original and OLED both involve removing the back shell, disconnecting the screen ribbon cables from the main board, removing the old screen assembly, installing the replacement, and reassembling. Adhesive on the front bezel is refreshed during reassembly to keep the seal clean.
On the Lite, the same general approach applies but the disassembly is more involved because the screen is integrated into the chassis rather than sitting as a removable subassembly.
If your Switch has other issues alongside the screen, we handle the full range of common Switch repairs. See our pages for Joy-Con drift repair, HDMI and dock repair, and charging port repair.
LCD screen replacement on the original Nintendo Switch. Includes the digitizer assembly which is replaced as one unit.
OLED panel replacement on the Switch OLED model. A different panel from the original Switch with different sourcing.
Screen replacement on the Switch Lite, which has the same LCD type as the original Switch but in a smaller form factor and integrated into the body of the device.
